Hamad Airport Named Best in Middle East for 11th Year

Hamad International Airport (HIA) has once again claimed the title of “Best Airport in the Middle East” at the 2025 Skytrax World Airport Awards. The win marks its eleventh consecutive year holding this top spot, confirming its status as the region’s leading hub for air travel.

The announcement was made on April 9 during a ceremony in Madrid, Spain.

Ranked second-best airport in the world for 2025

While HIA continues to dominate in the Middle East, it also ranked second globally in this year’s Skytrax list of the World’s Best Airports. It was just behind Singapore Changi Airport, which returned to the top of the global rankings. Tokyo Haneda Airport took third place.

Known for high passenger satisfaction and world-class shopping

Hamad International isn’t just about flights. It also took home the award for “World’s Best Airport Shopping” for the third year in a row, thanks to its mix of luxury stores and well-curated retail space.

With consistent praise for its design, efficiency, and passenger experience, HIA also received recognition as the Best Airport in the 50–60 million passenger category—highlighting how it handles heavy traffic without compromising on service.

Why this matters

These awards are based on millions of customer surveys around the world, covering everything from check-in and arrivals to shopping, dining, and ease of travel. For travelers in and out of the Gulf, Hamad International’s performance continues to raise the bar for what an airport experience can be.

If you’re flying through Doha anytime soon, expect a smooth journey—and maybe even time for a luxury shopping spree.
