Saudi Arabia to Host Summit Addressing 'Israeli Aggression'

Saudi Arabia has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza at a meeting of the recently established International Alliance to Implement the Two-State Solution, aimed at advancing Palestinian statehood. Nearly 90 countries and international organizations joined the two-day gathering in Riyadh.

Joint Summit Announced for November 11

In response to the escalating violence, Saudi Arabia announced plans for a joint Arab-Islamic summit on November 11 to address actions in Gaza and seek solutions. This follows a similar summit held last year by the Arab League and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Riyadh.

Saudi Foreign Minister Denounces Humanitarian Crisis

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan condemned the “catastrophic” humanitarian conditions in Gaza, highlighting the impact of the Israeli blockade. "What we are witnessing is a form of genocide aimed at displacing Palestinians from their land, which Saudi Arabia firmly opposes," he stated.

Pause in Saudi-Israeli Talks

The Gaza conflict has also led Saudi Arabia to halt talks on normalizing relations with Israel. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman previously emphasized that establishing an independent Palestinian state is essential for any future recognition of Israel.

UN’s Response and Ongoing Violence in Lebanon

The United Nations and Saudi Arabia expressed concern over Israel’s decision to limit the operations of the UN Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA) in occupied territories. Meanwhile, tensions continue to rise as the Israeli military launched attacks on Lebanon’s Baalbek city, impacting thousands in the area.

The situation in Gaza and Lebanon remains volatile, as Saudi Arabia and the international community push for solutions to the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
