Qatar Denounces Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza School

Qatar has condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli airstrikes that struck a school sheltering displaced families and a cultural center warehouse in Gaza, calling the attacks a grave breach of international humanitarian law.

In a statement released by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar said the bombing of Dar Al Arqam School in Gaza City and the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage warehouse in the Moraj area of Rafah were unacceptable assaults on civilian infrastructure.

Casualties in Gaza Surge

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, the death toll from Israel’s ongoing offensive has reached 50,609 since October 7, 2023—most of them women and children. On Thursday alone, 86 people were killed and 287 injured in strikes across the Strip.

Since renewed attacks began on March 18, at least 1,249 people have been killed and over 3,000 wounded.

Qatar Calls for Global Accountability

Qatar urged the international community to take immediate steps to stop what it described as Israel’s “repeated crimes against civilians.” The Foreign Ministry called for holding Israel accountable and enforcing compliance with international law to prevent further civilian casualties.

Steadfast in Support of Palestine

Reaffirming its long-standing position, Qatar reiterated its commitment to the Palestinian cause and the two-state solution. The country called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza intensifies, Qatar’s message is clear: it’s time for the world to step up and stop the suffering.
