“Ramadan Nights” in Katara Celebrates Moroccan Culture

During the Ramadan season, the Katara Arabic Novel Library held a special event dedicated to Arab populations called "Ramadan nights in culture and literature" at the Thuraya Planetarium, which is part of the cultural neighborhood Katara.

A sizable audience interacted with the program's contents as a number of members of the Moroccan community showcased their country's rich culture at the end of Ramadan nights.

HE Mr. Mohamed Setry, the Moroccan ambassador to Qatar, complimented the general establishment of Katara, the incubator of cultures, which has become a symbol not only on the local level but also on the Arab and international levels, which is a source of pride.

Mr. Stery emphasized that Morocco is happy to present its distinguished cultural image and that this evening is the best description of that, by introducing a rich program of Morocco's rich tradition, as the attendees dressed in their diverse heritage attire from all regions of Morocco, were a sincere expression of this richness and diversity.

Mr. Khalid bin Diab Al-Muhannadi, Director of Katara's Arabic novel library, said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the cultural district is keen to be in Ramadan events organized by residents from different communities in Qatar, where Katara is a cultural hub, and thus the organization of these Ramadan events, particularly by a number of Arab communities.

Al-Muhannadi added that the Egyptian community came first, followed by the Sudanese and Palestinian communities, with the Moroccan community introducing their country's history and legacy at the end of these nights.

Mr. Saeed Daheri, Director of the Moroccan Cultural House and evening coordinator, said in a statement to QNA that Moroccan involvement in Ramadan nights in culture and literature is one of the aspects of cultural cooperation between Katara and the cultural aspects and Arab communities that Qatar hosts and that it is an opportunity for the audience of this event to learn about Moroccan culture in all of its diversity and richness.

"The Moroccan community provided a distinguished participation, evoking the meanings of time, perfumed by the aromas of Ramadan, and the clarity of the place incubating various cultures, it provided images of Moroccan culture rich in artistic forms and features of heritage, represented by links of the art of praise and hearing in the mosque," he added.

This image was mirrored in the diversity of food dishes and desserts served on the sides of the ceremony, which were the most authentic embodiment of Moroccan cuisine as a cultural manifestation of Morocco.

Furthermore, the audience was treated to a variety of paragraphs ranging from realistic Moroccan rapture through expositions, literary readings, and the presentation of a number of traditional makers and craftsmen doing what they do best, whether through traditional Moroccan dress such as robes, kaftans, takchita, and jabadors, or engraving on gypsum and Moroccan table variety, as well as a presentation of games of chroma and cinematic tricks.
