The latest data of the Planning and Statistics Authority showed an increase in the number of visitors coming to the State of Qatar last August by 138.3 percent on an annual basis, compared to the same month of 2021, while it decreased by 1.6 percent compared to the previous month of July.

The data included in the 104th issue of the "Qatar Monthly Statistics" bulletin showed that the total number of visitors to the country last August was about 148,000 people, 59 percent of whom came from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the number of visitors who entered through the airport 50% of the total number of visitors.

Among the most prominent variables monitored by the bulletin, is the increase in the total number of newly registered vehicles, which reached 8830 vehicles during the month of August, recording a monthly increase of 50.3% and an annual increase of 26.4%.

As for the data related to traffic accident cases, without calculating accidents without injuries, the total number reached 685 last August, recording a monthly increase of 8.9 percent, and annually 22.1 percent, and light injuries recorded the vast majority of traffic accident cases during the same month by 94 percent. , followed by severe injuries at 5%, and as for deaths, they amounted to 9 cases, equivalent to only 1% of the total traffic accident cases.

With regard to the banking sector, the value of the broad money supply (2) amounted to about 678 billion riyals last August, recording an annual increase of 12.4 percent, compared to the same period in 2021, while the value of quasi-cash, which includes deposits of commercial banks, amounted to about 973 billion. riyals, recording an annual increase of 1.8 percent, compared to August 2021, when total deposits at that time were about 956 billion riyals.

With regard to the number and values of properties sold, it increased at a monthly change rate of 22.4 percent and 31.4 percent, respectively, compared to the previous month, July 2022, while it decreased at an annual rate of 18.1 percent and 12.1 percent, respectively, compared to August 2021.

In terms of building permit data issued, the total number of permits reached 784 permits during the month of August, recording a monthly increase of 42.5 percent, and an annual increase of 25.2%.

The data also showed that the total transactions of the e-government portal "Hukoomi" increased at a monthly rate of 34.4 percent, compared to last July, and an annual increase of 7.7 percent, compared to August 2021.

Last August also witnessed an increase in the total population of the country from 2.57 million people in August 2021 to 2.94 million people last August.

In the same context, with regard to vital statistics, the total number of live births reached 2092 last August, and the total Qatari live births recorded a decrease of 23.3 percent from last month, while the total number of deaths amounted to 229 recorded deaths, an increase of 7.5 percent, compared to the previous July.
