The Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) Qatar's "World’s Greatest Motorcars" exhibit, which runs until October 14, features a star attraction - the 1962 Rolls-Royce Phantom V, once owned by Qatar's former Amir H H Sheikh Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani. This classic beauty, having previously graced GIMS in the same year, now stands as the centerpiece at the gallery.

The Rolls-Royce Phantom, with the chassis number 5LCG25, symbolizes the enduring bond between Qatar and the Geneva Motor Show over the past six decades. It features an 8-cylinder 6.2-liter engine, a 4-speed automatic gearbox, and several luxurious additions like a sunshine roof, reading lights, and a clock with a speedometer. Notably, it was discovered in New York and meticulously restored by Mohammed Luqman Ali Khan, the Curatorial Director of the Classics Gallery at GIMSQ.

But the spotlight doesn't shine solely on the Phantom V. The "World’s Greatest Motorcars" section houses twelve other remarkable vehicles, ranging from a 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III Saloon to a 1979 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI 7-Passenger Enclosed Limousine.

Enthusiasts and visitors from around the world have flocked to GIMS Qatar to admire both vintage and contemporary automobiles. Maria Santos from Spain commended the show's remarkable presentation, highlighting the gems in every section. Ali Manuel from Portugal, similarly captivated, expressed his aspiration to own a classic vehicle in the near future.

The 10-day showcase of automotive excellence at the inaugural GIMS Qatar concludes today October 14, remaining open from 10 am to 10 pm.
