The Second Group of Scientific Club Summer Camp Launched on Sunday

Engineer Abdul Rahman Khamis, Deputy Executive Director of the Qatar Scientific Club, stressed that the most important feature of the 2022 Summer Science Camp is the multiplicity of scientific tracks in it, allowing participants the freedom to choose between tracks according to their desire and inclinations, noting that there is a technological track, a software track, and a science track, in addition to wide options, for ages ranging from 7 years old to 25 years old.

In an interview with the Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq, he said that the number of participants in the first group reached 140, and in the second group the number is approximately the same, knowing that the number of applications for participation in the Summer Science Camp for 2022 exceeded the 700 applications submitted, noting that the applications were sorted and the acceptance of participants, according to several criteria, including the application’s approval of the conditions of registration and priority of registration

He pointed out that the second group includes several tracks, and each track has a specific starting date and is different from the other tracks, but in general, the tracks of the second group start on the 16th of this month.

And the medicine and astronomy track, The goal of the track is to educate children, in addition to carrying out scientific experiments on the importance of dental health and kidney health, and the age group specified for this track is from 7 to 10 years.

There is also a path for the industry’s oasis for design, assembly, and programming, and the goal of the path is to design, install and program a model of meteorological stations to collect weather data. Thus, participants are trained in three-dimensional design, model implementation, installation and programming, and the age group specified for this path is from 15 to 18 years

He added that there is a STEM track "Summer Safely", which aims to exploit leisure time and create a creative environment, through a variety of scientific activities, and interactive workshops and the age group specified for this track is from 7 to 14 years old.

In addition to the track "Fix Your Motor", for the age group from 18 to 25 years for boys, which is an educational course for car mechanics and solving simple problems in it.

It is noteworthy that “Science Camp 22” was launched on the nineteenth of last June, and will continue until the twelfth of next August, within several scientific tracks in various fields between science, medicine, technology, design, manufacturing, programming, and mechanics, and a special program has been developed for each age group, The younger age group will be able to learn about the basic concepts of electronics, electricity, insulators, and conductors, and how to use the process of planning, design, and engineering drawing in building and programming a fire engine, As for the middle age group, participants will learn about building a self-extinguishing robot. They will also learn about the components of an electric car and how to safely disassemble and repair household appliances.

Adult participants will also have the opportunity to learn about techniques for dealing with 3D printers, engineering design, and how to use engineering science in dealing with technical challenges and problems encountered by participants, as well as learning about the basics and conditions of teamwork within one team.
