The Glazers, who own a majority ownership stake in Manchester United, have permitted Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe to move onto more serious negotiations about buying the football club.

The Qatari bank chairman and British billionaire will now move onto the second stage of the three-stage sale process for the football club after each presented his indicative offer.

There are rumours that the Glazers brothers might not sell the club after their appearance with the team at Carabao Cup after their win. However, the Red Devil fans are also speculating that the club might not be sold for any less than an outright sale.

Fans are also divided in their response to the news; while some fans are criticizing the low volume of offers the club has received, others have expressed that the Glazers brothers keep the football club with the hashtag "#GlazersIn".

In an interview with ESPNFC, Wayne Rooney shared his contentment at Manchester United being with the Glazers brothers, however, he also acknowledged that "it’s clear that the #mufc fans want the [owner’s] change, and it seems the Glazers are open to that change.”
