Saudi, Qatar Condemn Attack on UAE Envoy’s Home in Sudan

Saudi Arabia has condemned the recent attack on the residence of the UAE ambassador in Sudan, calling it a violation of international law. The Kingdom's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement through the Saudi Press Agency, expressing strong disapproval of the attack and emphasizing the need to protect diplomatic missions.

Saudi Arabia Denounces Violations

The Saudi Ministry reaffirmed its rejection of any violence targeting diplomats and diplomatic missions. The statement stressed the importance of adhering to international agreements, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which ensures the safety of diplomatic staff and premises.

UAE Calls for Action After Khartoum Attack

On Monday, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported extensive damage to the residence of its ambassador in Khartoum. The UAE condemned the assault and called for the protection of diplomatic buildings and staff in line with international laws and diplomatic norms. 

The UAE also announced plans to submit a formal letter of protest to international organizations, including the League of Arab States, the African Union, and the United Nations. The letter will highlight the violation of the inviolability of diplomatic premises.

Qatar Joins in Condemnation

Similarly, Qatar issued a statement condemning the attack on the UAE ambassador's residence, reaffirming its commitment to international laws protecting diplomatic missions. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized the importance of respecting diplomatic protocols, as outlined in the Vienna Convention.
