Beef Lumpiang Shanghai

1/2 kilogram Ground beef
1/2 Small white onion minced
3 cloves Garlic minced
1/2 Cup carrots minced
1/2 Cup spring onion sliced thinly
3 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
1 teaspoon ground black pepper or to taste
30 pieces Lumpia wrappers
water for sealing the wraper
Oil for frying
Sweet chili sauce for serving

    In a bowl, combine the beef, onion, garlic, carrot, spring onion, and oyster sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to overnight. (Test for seasoning by cooking a small ball.)
  2. Assembling the Lumpia

    Take about 1 tablespoon of filling and place it on the lower part of the lumpia wrapper, leaving around 2 inches of space. Fold over the filling, then fold in the edges to create an envelope-like shape. Roll and seal the wrappers using water.
  3. Frying the Lumpia

    Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the lumpia for approximately 3 minutes per side or until they turn golden brown. Remove excess oil by draining on paper towels. Serve with sweet chili sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.
