Qatar's Hosting of the World Cup will be a Source of Pride

Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), believes that FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 would be the best edition ever.

Al Thawadi told reporters on the side-lines of the DECC draw that the competition will be the best ever because of the legacy it will leave for Qatar, the Arab region, and the entire world.

He explained that the draw was another step toward the World Cup's kick-off, as it revealed the mascot, the official song, and the draw. He stated that the event left a positive effect on all participants, adding that even those who had reservations departed with a positive impression.

He added: “Keep in mind that some of the entities I've highlighted have previously been vociferous foes. Those who were once adversaries became allies and partners in a shared journey to ensure that this World Cup makes a difference and leaves an impact by taking the time to grasp the complexities of the situation on the ground and by having a shared commitment to improving lives. Not for a few weeks, not for a few months, but for decades after the last ball will have kicked. And, ladies and gentlemen, I implore you to recognize this commitment."

In regard to Qatar's World Cup group, Al Thawadi stated that Arab countries will face a significant struggle at the tournament. He also predicted that the match versus Ecuador would be challenging. He emphasized that the Qatari national team has faced South American opponents before, having competed in the Copa America. In terms of Senegal, Al Thawadi believes the Qatari team will be able to manage the match.

Meanwhile, Nasser Al Khater, the CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, has expressed complete confidence in the organization of an outstanding event for all teams and supporters.

Qatar, according to Al Khater, is prepared to fulfil its commitment to host a tournament that achieves the highest levels of success due to the involvement of the world's best teams. Qatar used the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, which was hosted in Doha at the same time as the World Cup last year, to strengthen administrative and organizational performance in preparation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, according to the tournament's CEO.

Al Khater reaffirmed his faith in the working team's ability to organize the tournament, stating that everyone had gained the required knowledge and skills to ensure the World Cup's success.

Al Khater stated that the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy is working together to create a unique version that would be remembered by fans all over the world.
