Qatar to Host 66 Sports Events During Ramadan

The Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) is set to host 66 sports events and tournaments throughout the holy month of Ramadan, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle for all members of the community.

Announced during a press conference at Lusail Sports Hall, the initiative aims to encourage fitness and well-being, with a lineup of competitions and activities catering to all ages and abilities.

A Diverse Range of Sporting Events

From traditional sports to unique challenges, the QSFA’s Ramadan program includes:

  • North Challenge Race at Heenat Salma Farm
  • Muay Thai training at Lusail Multipurpose Hall, Aspire Academy, and Al Luqta Parks
  • Cycling, fitness programs, and walking initiatives
  • Table tennis, billiards, paddle, badminton, karate, football, volleyball, and basketball
  • Ayal AlFareej Championship and a special competition for the elderly, in partnership with Ehsan Center

A Bigger Focus on Women’s Sports

This year, women’s sports take center stage, with dedicated tournaments in football, volleyball, and badminton hosted at Education City Stadium every Tuesday evening.

“We are committed to making sports accessible to everyone, and this year we are increasing opportunities for women to participate in a variety of sporting activities,” said QSFA Executive Director Abdullah Al Dosari.

Community-Focused Initiatives

The QSFA will also align some events with global awareness days, including those dedicated to disabilities, autism, obesity, and Down syndrome.

Additionally, Al Furjan fields in Al Khor and Al Wukair will be open for community members to practice walking, basketball, handball, and other sports.

Among the most anticipated competitions are:

  • Four desert running races on the Education City mountain bike trail
  • Al Thumama Ramadan Football Championship at Al Furjan Stadiums
  • Community Football Championship
  • Third Ekbes Beach Volleyball Championship at Old Doha Port

With a packed Ramadan schedule, QSFA aims to ensure that sports and fitness remain a priority during the holy month, fostering community engagement and well-being.
