Qatar Rehabilitation Center Provides New Advanced Services

Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, Medical Director at Qatar Rehabilitation Center and Rumailah Hospital, affirmed the center's commitment to establishing more services designed specifically for patient groups, especially with the current developments and modern equipment that has been introduced at the Qatar Rehabilitation Center.

Dr. Hanadi's statements came after the visit of H.E. Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, to the Physiotherapy and Orthopedic Unit and the Pediatric Speech Therapy Clinic in the outpatient clinics of the Qatar Rehabilitation Center at Hamad Medical Corporation.

Where she was briefed on all the services and the support they provide to enhance the quality of life of patients, as a new unit for physiotherapy and orthopedics for women was recently established in the outpatient clinics in order to keep pace with the increasing demand for rehabilitation services and the provision of specialized physiotherapy services for adult women, in addition to the expansion of the pediatric speech clinic with its various specialties.

Dr. Hanadi Al-Hamad said that the Physiotherapy Unit is dedicated to patients suffering from diseases of the musculoskeletal and orthopedic system, including post-operative or trauma cases, as our facility is provided with specialized therapists with great experience in this field, which is particularly important for many female patients, who may feel reluctant to visit a mixed male and female treatment facility or be treated by male therapists.

And She added that 12 treatment rooms have been added in the children's speech therapy clinic in the outpatient clinics, as this additional capacity will help in receiving more patients and providing better access to care for a larger number of children.

For her part, Ms. Noura Al-Mudahka, Head of the Physiotherapy Department, said that the unit is designed to provide high quality care and safe and effective services

And she pointed out that the unit works by enhancing knowledge and therapeutic practices and using the latest technologies to achieve optimal health outcomes for patients who need physical rehabilitation after illness or after surgery, and care is also taken to treat patients' chronic pain or chronic conditions to help them improve their health and ability to move, in addition to reducing patients' dependence on pain relievers.

The pediatric speech therapy clinic in the outpatient clinics provides its services for children from birth until the age of 14 years, providing 5 main services, which are the speech and language clinic, the dysphagia treatment clinic for children, the communication assistance clinic, the voice and resonance clinic, and the language fluency clinic

And the Physiotherapy Unit provides its specialized services to adult Qatari female patients, it offers a variety of evidence-based physiotherapy techniques and methods aimed at helping female patients develop, maintain and restore maximum body movement and physical function.
