Qatar Charity Hosts Gaza’s Largest Iftar Serving Over 7,000

Qatar Charity marked the beginning of Ramadan by organizing the largest Iftar gathering in the Gaza Strip, offering vital support to displaced and vulnerable families. The initiative, part of the "Giving Live On" campaign, aimed to ease the hardships faced by orphaned families and those struggling with severe food insecurity.

Thousands Benefit from Mass Iftar Distribution

Held in the Zeitoun and Shuja'iyya neighborhoods, the event provided ready-to-eat meals to over 7,000 individuals. Beyond the mass gathering, Qatar Charity continued distributing food baskets and prepared meals across Gaza throughout Ramadan. These efforts come as the region grapples with rising food prices and limited humanitarian aid, with UN reports indicating that over 90% of Gaza’s population is facing critical food shortages.

Community Support and Spiritual Bonding

The Iftar event went beyond just meals—it fostered a sense of unity and solidarity among families and neighbors. Spiritual and recreational activities added to the atmosphere, giving attendees a moment of relief during the holy month.

Expanding Relief Efforts Across Crisis Areas

Qatar Charity’s Ramadan campaign, supported by donors in 40 countries, aims to assist 4.5 million people worldwide, with a special focus on Gaza and other crisis-affected regions. In addition to Iftar meals, initiatives include Eid clothing distribution and Zakat Al-Fitr programs, expected to reach over 250,000 people in Gaza alone.

The charity has called on the public to continue supporting its seasonal and development projects to extend aid to as many people in need as possible during Ramadan.
