Things are slowly returning to normal two years after the outbreak of Covid-19.  With Ramadan 2022 now among us, there is a renewed sense of anticipation and determination to make the most of this year's Holy month.

The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs recently announced that all mosques, as well as their female prayer sections, are permitted to operate for Ramadan.

Many Muslims are already making elaborate plans to visit their preferred mosque with their families to participate in the Isha Taraweeh prayers. Women are planning numerous visits to the mosque to participate in the spirit of this month, as they do not want to miss out on the collective prayer.

While practically every mosque offers a female praying place, there still are a few mosques that stand out for their accessibility, convenience, and large female praying areas.

During Ramadan, we collected a list of mosques where women can pray the Taraweeh.

The Education City Mosque

The Education City mosque, which is located in the Minaratein complex in Education City, serves as a gathering place for many students and locals in the neighborhood. The mosque's unique design gives it a pleasant spot to recite the Taraweeh prayers. The women's ablutions and prayer spaces are large and roomy, allowing for the worshipper's comfort. A separate seating space with comfy chairs and tables for ladies is also available, where you can read the Holy Quran.

Imam Abdul Wahhab Mosque (State Grand Mosque)

The Imam Abdul Wahab Mosque in downtown Doha is undoubtedly the most popular mosques in the city, and it's a terrific place to take your family for the Taraweeh prayers.

While the men's section is clearly larger, the women's section is expected to hold over 1,200 worshippers at any given time. There are also ablution facilities for those with special needs in the mosque, which is an added bonus.

Katara Mosque

The Katara mosque, which was designed by a Turkish mosque architect and contains mosaic tiles on the interior, is particularly lovely. While the women's prayer area is excellent, the space is somewhat limited in comparison to other mosques. If you are in Katara after iftar, this mosque is a great place to go for Isha and Taraweeh prayer with your family.

Msheirib Jumaa Mosque

Another nice spot to perform your Taraweeh prayers is the Msheirib Mosque, which is tucked cozily in Msheirib Downtown. The mosque is simply built in the style of the rest of downtown, with high ceilings that provide ideal acoustics for listening to speeches and prayers. On the first floor, the female prayer area is likewise quite vast and can easily accommodate a significant number of female worshippers.

Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Center

The Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Center, also known as Fanar, is a great place to go for prayers and other Islamic activities in the heart of Doha. If you and your family plan to go shopping in Souq Wakif during Ramadan, it would be more convenient to go to Fanar for the Taraweeh prayers.

The women's worshipping room, located on the first floor of the masjid, is well-kept, wide, and ideal for a higher number of female worshippers. The interior of the Mosque is tranquil and pleasant, and the sound system is adequate for the whole family to participate in the Isha-Taraweeh prayers.

Aspire Zone Mosque
