New Program Launched to Find Qatar’s Future Racing Stars

The Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) is launching a new initiative to spot and develop young motorsport talent in the country. The program, called Qatar Motorsports Academy Stars, is designed to discover promising Qatari individuals and provide them with a pathway to a competitive racing career.  

How to Participate

The program is open to Qatari citizens aged between 15 and 25. It welcomes both boys and girls, with no prior motorsport experience or driving license required. The selection process will kick off with testing at the Qatar Motorsports Academy, located at Lusail International Circuit, on January 17, 2025. Those interested can register online or through the Academy's Instagram page (@qma_lcsc). 

Selection Process and Evaluation

Participants will take part in a short slalom course using cones and plastic barriers. The goal is to achieve the best time, with top qualifiers advancing to longer courses. The 35 fastest drivers will proceed to the final stages, which will be held on January 18 and 19, 2025.  

In the final round, 25 drivers will be selected, including at least 15 without any previous racing experience. A total of 5 additional spots will be reserved for young drivers aged 15-18. Participants will be assessed not only for their driving skills but also their psychological and physical attributes. Motorsport experts will evaluate each individual to ensure a comprehensive judgment of their potential.  

Opportunities for the Top Performers

The top three drivers from the program will earn the chance to compete in prestigious events, such as the MERC Junior Category and the Qatar National Baja Championship. Additionally, younger participants, especially those under 18, can join the Qatar Motorsport Academy’s training program until they are eligible for a driving license. One lucky participant may even get the chance to represent Qatar on the National Team.  

This talent-search initiative aligns with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and aims to grow the motorsport community in the country, encouraging young Qatari drivers to aim high and dream big.
