National Day Festivities at Darb Al Saai Hit New Highs

Darb Al Saai, the centerpiece of Qatar's National Day celebrations, has shattered attendance records this year. On Wednesday, December 18, the flagship event welcomed a staggering 102,068 visitors, the Ministry of Culture confirmed. This milestone follows another impressive turnout of 88,646 attendees on December 17.

Held at Umm Salal, Darb Al Saai offers a vibrant cultural and heritage showcase, blending traditional Qatari elements with entertainment and educational activities. The event, which officially began on December 10, has been extended until December 21 to accommodate the overwhelming interest.

The celebration boasts 15 major events and over 100 engaging activities, including highlights like the Qatari House, the Desert Museum, Al Shaqab, and the Interactive Games Area. Visitors can also explore the debut “Sana Qatar” event and enjoy the bustling Souq and Al Meez corners.

A standout attraction is the ‘Al Fareej Museum,’ which recreates the neighborhoods of old Qatar. This immersive exhibit highlights traditional crafts like fishing, fish trap-making, and shipbuilding—a revered skill known as "Al-Qalafa" used for fishing and pearl diving vessels.

Food lovers are also treated to an array of authentic Qatari dishes, drawing citizens and residents alike to savor traditional flavors.

The Qatar Photography Center’s pavilion adds a visual storytelling element, showcasing the country’s architectural designs, cultural heritage, and historic achievements through curated exhibitions and striking photography.

With its diverse offerings and record-breaking attendance, Darb Al Saai continues to solidify its reputation as a must-visit cultural landmark during Qatar’s National Day festivities.
