Kaka, Francesco Totti, and Alessandro del Piero, three FIFA Legends and World Cup winners, visited the pediatric section at the Sidra Medicine center in Doha. While there, they spoke with the patients and their families and presented them with bags of football-themed gifts.

According to Kaka, the kids were somewhat happier as a result of the visit, which served to temporarily divert their attention from their struggles with their frequently challenging conditions. The Brazilian player at three FIFA World Cups and 2002 medal winner said it was also a means of giving back to football for everything that it had done for him.

"It's quite satisfying for us to be in this situation because it allows me to offer something back," he remarked. "I am tremendously appreciative of football and everything I have accomplished as a result of playing it. This is one of the ways I attempt to make up for it."

He stated that "the kids' responses demonstrated the potential for such trips to have an impact, which is one of the goals of the FIFA Legends."

According to Kaka "The kids have a fresh perspective and are a little more hopeful, you may tell someone is happy when they smile, speak about football, joke, comment, or ask a question."

And he said: "You can see the powerful effect that such a small action may have. You sit there and converse briefly, you accept a gift, you notice their happiness and the light in their eyes."

Like Kaka, Alessandro Del Piero expressed how the patients' and their families' courage touched him.

The Italian player, who competed at the FIFA World Cup in 1998, 2002, and 2006 and brought home a medal in each of those, said, "What is unbelievable is the strength of these kids and families, in these difficult situations, plus the support of the hospital and every single nurse, doctor, and worker here."

"The commitment is incredible, and what we're trying to do is try and make some of them happy, try to get them to think about something else with our visit, and football is one of the best vehicles to talk about something other," said Alessandro Del Piero.
