Joshua Pacio Reclaims MMA Gold at ONE 171 in Qatar

Filipino MMA sensation Joshua "The Passion" Pacio delivered a stunning comeback victory at ONE 171: Qatar, securing the Strawweight MMA World Championship with a second-round TKO against American fighter Jarred "The Monkey God" Brooks.

The electrifying bout took place at Lusail Sports Arena on Thursday, where Brooks controlled the first round before Pacio mounted an incredible turnaround. The Filipino unleashed a barrage of strikes in round two, forcing the referee to stop the fight at 4:32.

“I’m speechless. I’ve been through a lot this year. Thank you so much, Qatar. Thank you to all the kababayans for your support. The atmosphere is amazing, and that’s why I call Qatar home,” Pacio said post-fight.

A Night of Knockouts and Upsets

The night featured several high-profile fights, with multiple world titles changing hands:

  • Jonathan "The General" Haggerty defeated Wei Rui by unanimous decision to capture the Bantamweight Kickboxing World Championship.

Qatar’s own Zayed Alkatheeri impressed on the lead card, claiming a first-round armbar win in openweight submission grappling.
