Hamas to Abide by Ceasefire Deal Including Hostage Release

Hamas has promised to abide by the conditions of the ceasefire agreement with Israel, including the release of hostages.

The group's delegation led by senior official Khalil Al Hayya held talks in Cairo, Egypt with the mediators to discuss the implementation of the agreement and the hostage-prisoner swap.

Hamas explained that their delegation had discussions with Egypt's head of intelligence and talked over the phone with Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman.

The group said, "The talks focused on the necessity of abiding by the implementation of all the provisions of the agreement, especially with regard to securing housing for our people and the urgent entry of caravans, tents, heavy equipment, medical supplies, fuel, and the continued flow of relief."

Israel made no immediate comment after Hamas' announcement, which came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to resume fighting after the group had delayed the release of three hostages.
