Great Place to Work® Middle East reveals the ‘World Best Workplaces™

On November 16^th 2023, Great Place to Work^® - a global research, training and consultancy firm that recognizes the Best Workplaces™ in over 60 countries worldwide - has revealed the World Best Workplaces™ List for the year 2023’. This year, we have identified the top 25 companies that, according to their employees, offer the best experience for workers of all backgrounds, job types, and geographic locations. More than 6.2 million survey responses were analyzed, representing the experiences of 18 million workers around the world.

By participating in the World Best Workplaces™ List for the first time, Oman and Bahrain have joined the ranks of Qatar and Kuwait, marking a significant milestone for these nations. Their inclusion serves as a testament to their determination in driving positive change, fostering economic growth and enhancing the lives of the citizens.

This year’s list was more competitive than ever, with a 28% increase in companies participating in the global survey from 2022, and a 40% increase in the number of employee surveys received.

The 25 winning companies had a larger percentage of workers reporting fair pay (75%), healthy work-life balance support (84%), and a voice in decisions that affected their lives (81%), compared to a typical global workplace.

At winning companies, 88% of employees would recommend their employer to friends and family — 34 percentage points higher than the global average of 54%.

Any company based in the Middle East, falls within the industries belonging to the lists and employs 10 or more employees is eligible to participate.  Any company that appears on the list is selected primarily based on their employees' responses to the Great Place to Work Trust Index^©, a proprietary employee survey developed by Great Place to Work®.  In addition, the Great Place to Work® Middle East evaluates materials submitted by the company, including the company's response to the Great Place to Work® Culture Audit^© with accompanying materials submitted by the company for consideration. Organizations can apply from now and until the beginning of the following year for the 2023 Best Workplaces™ list.

To be eligible to participate in the World’s Best Workplaces™ List, companies have to be listed on at least five our Best Workplaces™ country lists around the world, employ at least 5,000 workers globally, with 40% or 5,000 of employees outside their headquarters country.
