Conditions for Obtaining Dorm Housing at Qatar University

Qatar University has set a number of conditions and controls for students to obtain dorm housing before the start of the new academic year during the month of August. It stressed that there are standards and priorities for university housing that belong to students who have scholarships, and the right to housing is part of their scholarship agreement.

In addition to Qatari students and residents who live at a distance of more than 50 km from the university and international students, students with special needs also benefit from university housing, their Cases are transferred to the integration center, and people with special needs determine their eligibility, in consultation with the Student Accommodation Department

The university said that there are general requirements for student housing so that students must be registered for classes during the residency period and not be employees, except for the student employment program at Qatar University, in addition to students who are sponsored by the university, except for students residing in Qatar and on the sponsorship of their parents, Students must pay the full allowance of housing at the beginning of the semester, and students must accept, sign and abide by all student housing procedures, policies, and contract.

Documents required for residency

The university has identified a number of documents required for residence in the university dormitory, which are personal photos of the student, a copy of the valid ID or passport, a copy of the guardian’s passport or the Qatari ID, and the acceptance notice from the Qatar University Admission Department for the new student

In addition to the “To Whom It May Concern” certificate from the police station that belongs to the student’s actual area of residence stating the student’s residence address for the Qatari student residing in Qatar.

In the case of the death of the female student’s guardian, the guardianship deed must be brought to the legal guardian, and a copy of a valid passport or ID And the consent of the guardian in writing to enroll the student in the student housing. with the male guardian’s personal attendance to the female students’ residence in the case of his residence in the country to deliver the documents and fill out the permit form.

Accommodation fee

There are fees imposed on students when they stay in university housing, and the university has set fees, where the bachelor's student must pay 800 riyals per month, for a double room, while the master's and doctoral student pays fees of 2000 riyals per month, for a single room, As for the student who has a scholarship that covers housing fees, It isn't charged and the fees are charged at the beginning of each semester.

Services offered to students

Among the most important services provided by the administration to its students are food services, which include 3 meals a day, and transportation, where transportation is provided within the university campus for all students residing from and from the student housing buildings to the university buildings according to a specific daily schedule. And laundry services where there are free washing and drying machines on every floor within the student housing buildings. In addition to the cleaning services, there is staff responsible for cleaning the public and common areas within the student housing buildings.
