Closer Look at the Uruguayan National Team in the World Cup

The Uruguayan National Team is considered one of the oldest football teams in the world, as it was established more than a century ago, specifically in the year 1900, and participated in its first official match under the cover of FIFA in 1901.

Uruguay has a rich history of World Cup participation, as it will participate in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 for the14th time in its history and looks forward to reviving the very beautiful glories of the past, given that this Latin team was previously crowned twice in the World Cup in the 1930 and 1950 editions, and was also active in the semi-finals of the 2010 edition in South Africa.

Suarez's teammates will start their World Cup campaign on November 24 by meeting South Korea at the Education City Stadium, then they will face the Portuguese national team in an exciting match hosted by Lusail Stadium on November 28, before facing Ghana in the third round on December 2 at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.

The Uruguayan national team will be in the World Cup in Qatar, supported by its historic scorer Luis Suarez, who has so far managed to score 68 international goals, a score that is expected to rise in the Qatar World Cup, which will be the last in the career of the 35-year-old Suarez.

In addition to "The Biter" Luis Suarez and "The Sniper" Darwin Nunez, the Uruguayan national team includes another lethal weapon in the middle of the field, named Frederico Valverde, whose star recently emerged with Spanish giants Real Madrid, where Valverde established himself as an extraordinary star with the Royal Club, thanks to his missile goals from outside the penalty area, which has become a trademark registered in his name, the young Valverde will undoubtedly set up his spherical missile platform in the Qatar stadiums to blow up the opponents’ goal,  determining to lead his country to glory, and why not, repeat the achievements of 1930 and 1950 and snatch the world Cup title.

The Uruguay national team is coached by a local coach named Diego Alonso, a former football player who played for several clubs, most notably Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

This is considered the first international training experience for Alonso, who was appointed by the Uruguay Federation about a year and a half ago, and succeeded in the first bet by leading the team to the World Cup in Qatar, waiting for the biggest bet of going far in the World Cup, especially since it has a star-studded team

In addition to its great history in the World Cup with two coronations, the Uruguay national team is considered one of the leaders of the South American continent, despite the presence of two giants in the Latin continent named Brazil and Argentina, but Uruguay succeeded in imposing itself on these two giants, as it is considered the best history in terms of the number of coronations in the Copa America title, with 15 full titles equally with the Argentine national team, and ahead of the Brazilian team with 6  coronations.
