Saud Al-Tamimi, Director of Roads Projects Department at the Public Works Authority "Ashghal", revealed that the percentage of readiness of the Public Works Authority to host Qatar for the twenty-second edition of the FIFA World Cup next November has reached 99%.

He stressed that most of the infrastructure projects for the 2022 World Cup have been completed, and there are only a few simple additions left, such as those related to the increase in parking lots, in addition to some cosmetic work in the streets, pointing to the need to separate the state's infrastructure and projects that concern Ashghal or the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Al-Tamimi explained that before receiving the honor of organizing this sporting event, Qatar embarked on implementing its plan for infrastructure in residential areas, sewage works, and the rain network. Through which the leadership aims to make Qatar one of the best countries in the world in all sectors, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, and by returning once again to Ashghal’s preparations for the World Cup, Al-Tamimi stressed that all the connectivity projects that were launched to link stadiums and other major facilities during the tournament Completely finished, waiting for the rest of the minor details to be completed.

In the same context, "The Print" website confirmed what was stated by Mr. Saud Al-Tamimi, Director of Roads Projects Department at the Public Works Authority "Ashghal" when he published a report in which he talked about Qatar's preparations to host the World Cup at the end of this year, in all fields, especially the infrastructure He noted the tremendous efforts made by the government over the past few years to reach this high level of quality, pointing to the endless chain of roads that have been built in it, which made the issue of moving from the capital, Doha to other cities, an easy matter.

The report added that the process of reaching the stadiums during the World Cup will guarantee the fans the shortening of time and effort, in light of the availability of the State of Qatar on a distinguished road network that can connect the regions of the country with complete ease, and transport the fans from the farthest point in the north to the south in a short time, citing the good echoes coming from Qatar after the events of the Arab Cup at the end of last year, in addition to road expansion operations led by the authorities responsible for this sector in the center of the capital, Doha, which was almost completely completed six months before the start of the World Cup.

The report indicated that Qatar, on its way to strengthening the transport network in Qatar, did not rely only on projects related to roads only, but went beyond that to other investments such as relying on electric cars, in addition to the Doha Metro, which succeeded in reducing the congestion that the country was suffering from in the past, especially in the periods of organizing mass events.
