Ashghal Paves the Way for Lusail Stadium Fans

The Public Works Authority “Ashghal” announces that the roads leading to Lusail Stadium are ready to receive Lusail Super Cup fans and the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 final. Lusail Stadium, which has the largest capacity among all World Cup stadiums, will host the Super Cup match on Friday, September 9, 2022.

Al Khor Highway

A direct road to Lusail Stadium and its parking spaces in both directions, Its length is 33 km and includes ten intersections.

It is considered an important linking point between the northern and eastern regions with the city of Doha and about 20 residential areas, such as Simaisma, Umm Qarn, Tanbek, Wadi Al-Banat, Rawdat Al Hamama, as well as Lusail, The Pearl, Qatifiya, Al Tarfa, and others. The road also facilitates access to Mesaieed and Dukhan through its intersection with Al Majd Road.

Al Khor highway provides a traffic capacity of approximately 20,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, which improves traffic and shortens the journey time to reach the stadium.

Al Majd highway

Al Majd is distinguished as a highway consisting of 7 lanes in each direction between Mesaieed, Al Khor, and Lusail, with a length of 130 km, with a capacity of more than 14,000 vehicles per hour. The road includes 18 intersections to provide a free flow of traffic between the south and north of the country without the need to cross the city of Doha, which contributes to shortening the journey time by more than 50%.

Al Majd highway provides a direct link with a number of stadiums, such as Al Bayt Stadium, Lusail Stadium, Al Janoub Stadium, Al Thumama, and 974.

It enhances traffic to and from many important facilities such as Hamad Port, Hamad International Airport, the industrial area, and the logistics areas.

It also works on Easy access to commercial centers and markets.

Lusail highway

Lusail highway is located in a vital area linking Doha to Lusail City and includes many public destinations such as The Pearl, Katara, the Diplomatic District, and

many residential neighborhoods, hotels, and commercial complexes.

The length of the highway is about 10 km and includes four lanes in each direction, several bridges, and developed tunnels, and the Lusail highway effectively contributes to improving traffic and facilitating access to many destinations.

The highway features separate pedestrian and bicycle paths with a length of more than 8 km each and contains one of the most important architectural icons in Qatar, the 5/6 arches.

It is worth noting that the Supervising Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in the country has implemented agricultural and irrigation works and established connected and safe paths for pedestrians and bicycles, with the availability of the necessary furniture for rest (benches - bicycle parking) in several streets in the area surrounding Lusail Stadium, the most important of which are: Arab League Street, Al Tarfa, Al Buhaira,  Legtaifiya and the University (Legtaifiya to Al Buhaira) next to Al Aab Street.
