Qatar Museums announced free entrance to all museums in the country starting Thursday, May 18th, until Saturday, May 20th, in honor of International Museum Day.

At the National Museum of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, among others, visitors can tour the numerous exhibits and galleries for free.
Under the theme "Museums, Sustainability and Well-Being," this year's International Museum Day honors the crucial role that museums play in fostering community well-being and sustainable development, addressing climate change and diversity, reducing social isolation, and improving mental health through educational programs, exhibitions, community outreach, and research.
Commenting on the celebration, Qatar Museums' CEO Ahmad Musa Al Namla said, “International Museum Day reminds us of the critical role museums play in promoting cultural understanding and exchange. At Qatar Museums, we’re committed to supporting and developing world-class museums and cultural institutions that not only preserve our cultural heritage but also contribute to education, research, and entertainment.”

“This day serves as a reminder of our responsibility to promote and preserve our shared cultural heritage for generations to come. As we celebrate International Museum Day this year, we’d like to extend our warmest welcome to the public by offering free admission to our museums and exhibitions,” he added.
