It is World Humanitarian Day and on this special day, we can not help but show appreciation to the UAE for its continuous contributions to humanity and humanitarian work.

UAE has always given value to humanitarian work and continuing the footsteps of its founding father His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan may his soul rest in peace.

It even has a dedicated day called Zayed Humanitarian Day it commemorates the UAE's accomplishments in terms of humanitarian aid provided to other countries and people since the era of Sheikh Zayed up until the present day.

UAE has launched several humanitarian projects over the past years, like the ‘100 Million Meals’ initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai. That has achieved more than the expected goal from 100 million meals to raising funds to cover approximately 216 million meals around the world to countries in need.

UAE has helped many countries throughout the past year to face the pandemic. As part of medical assistance supplied by the UAE's primary humanitarian arm to help the nations deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and speed up the recovery efforts, the UAE Red Crescent has launched several vaccination programs targeted at refugees and displaced people in Jordan and Iraq.

UAE has also helped by sending Oxygen containers to India via an Indian military aircraft for use in hospitals.

To mark the occasion, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai announced yesterday that the UAE Golden Visa will now be granted to pioneers of humanitarian work in the UAE.
