A magnificent sculpture dedicated to Qatari women was unveiled at the Qatar Foundation (QF) for International Women's Day on Thursday, Mar. 7.

The sculpture is called 'Al Azm' and it was inaugurated by the Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation, Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.
During the inauguration, the official plaque was also unveiled, which provided information about the sculpture and the artist.
The ceremony also featured various performances and speeches.
The sculpture was created by H E Sheikh Hassan bin Mohammed bin Ali Al Thani, Advisor of Cultural Affairs at QF.
The sculpture symbolizes the determination of Qatari women, depicting them walking against the wind with their arms crossed and their abayas rippling behind them.
The sculpture emphasizes the strength and solidarity of Qatari women as well as highlighting their traditions.
The sculpture depicts three women, which symbolize the three focus areas of QF that are science and research, education, and community development.
