'The Chandelier' won the Best Film Award at Doha Film Institute's (DFI) 'Made in Qatar' competition.

'Made in Qatar' was launched to support both student and independent filmmakers in Qatar and to showcase a wide range of short films highlighting life in Qatar.
The Best Film award went to Karima Emara for 'The Chandelier' and there were more awards handed out at the 'Made in Qatar' competition.
Buthyna Al Mohammadi and Awad Karrar received a Special Jury Mention for their films “Above the Tamarind Tree” and “When It’s Time”.
Faisal Al Balushi was given the Abdulaziz Jassim Award for Best Performance because of his exceptional performance in the film 'Sanad'.
Another big award for the Best Director was given to Nadia Al Khater for her film 'A Proposal'.
The films from 'Made in Qatar' will continue to be screened until Sunday, February 25, at VOX Cinemas, Doha Oasis Mall.
Another exciting DFI programme that cinephiles should mark their calendars for is the Qumra Programme, which will run from Mar. 1 to Mar. 6 in Doha.
