Indian female wrestler Vinesh Phogat won against Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in the women's freestyle 50kg category semifinal at the Paris Olympics 2024.

By defeating Lopez, Phogat became the first Indian woman to make it to the wrestling finals at the Olympics after securing a score of 5-0.
Before this semi-final, Phogat made waves online by defeating Olympic champion, Japan's Yui Susaki.

Phogat is scheduled to compete against the US team's Sarah Ann Hildebrandt in the final match on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Other than Phogat, Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra also made it to the finals of the men's javelin throw, which is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 8.
