US President Joe Biden recently announced that he rejects the ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan's application for arrest warrants for Israeli leaders Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant.

President Biden made the statement at the Jewish American Heritage Month event at the White House on Monday, May 20.

He said, "Let me be clear, we reject the ICC’s application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders."

The US President also said, "There is no equivalence between Israel and Hamas....contrary to allegations against made in the ICJ, what's happening is not genocide."

Israel is also facing another case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on alleged genocide, which was brought by South Africa.

In January, the ICJ ruled that there was a plausible risk of genocide in Gaza and ordered Israel to take all the necessary steps to avoid genocidal acts in Gaza.

Karim Khan also applied for arrest warrants for three Hamas leaders: Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Diab Ibrahim al-Masr, and Ismail Haniyeh.

The charges made against both Israeli and Hamas leaders were supported by evidence gathered by a panel of experts including international human rights lawyer Amal Clooney.
