Private schools in the northern emirates decided not to take their students outside today during the eclipse phenomenon to preserve their safety and to conduct an awareness lecture during the morning assembly about the eclipse phenomenon to inform students of the dangers of looking at the sun with the naked eye.
Other schools decided to take their students to the Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space to follow the eclipse and to educate them about the dangers of looking at the sun during the eclipse without specialized glasses, or with the naked eye, as it may cause burning of the center of vision in the eye leading to blindness.
