The UAE announced changing the weekend yesterday officially for all workers and students in the country to Saturday & Sunday instead of Friday and Saturday, as Friday will be half a working day, and so January 2nd was declared a holiday giving the residents of UAE a very long 3 days weekend to start and celebrate their new 2022.

The new weekend will take effect at the start of the new year, and Friday prayers will be held at 1:15 pm after half of the working day on Friday ends.
