Tourism Booms in Qatar Months Before the World Cup
In Qatar, the month of July was jam-packed with events geared toward families before Eid Al-Adha and after.
In July 2022, hotel occupancy rates and income in Qatar increased significantly as more people traveled to the Gulf country as a result of a tourism boom.

The occupancy rate for two- and one-star hotels increased to 90% in July of this year from 72% in July of last year, according to the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA).
In July 2022, the hospitality industry in Qatar did well, with a 55% overall occupancy rate. From 81% in the same period in 2021 to 85% in July 2022, three-star hotel occupancy climbed.
The survey states that in July 2022, 60% of four-star hotels were occupied. In a similar vein, 53% of five-star hotels were occupied during the time under review.
The occupancy rates for basic hotel apartments and deluxe hotel apartments in July of this year were 49% and 78%, accordingly.
Revenue per available room, a metric used to assess a hotel's capacity to fill open rooms on average, increased for hotels in Qatar.
For the 2022 World Cup, Airbnb costs in Qatar typically run close to $73,000 a month.
This is important since it enables the hotel sector to evaluate the general performance of their property. In five-star hotels, income per available room grew to QR332 in July 2022. It increased to QAR 155 in four-star accommodations, QAR 173 in three-star lodgings, and QAR 156 in two- and one-star lodgings.
The average daily rate for premium and basic hotel flats jumped to QAR 384 and QAR 212, respectively, in July of this year. The average room cost rose in five-star hotels by QAR 627 and in four-star hotels by QAR 258, respectively.
In the same month, the average room cost for hotels and hotel apartments increased from QAR 400 to QAR 458.
A rise in demand for the country's hospitality industry is anticipated as a result of numerous government initiatives and the impending FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Fans of the World Cup in Qatar have a variety of lodging alternatives, including 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels, luxurious apartments and villas, floating hotels, fan villages, cabins, vacation homes, and staying with family and friends.
The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy stated that supporters from outside of Qatar can book their accommodations through the official host country platform in response to the idea of providing real estate for rent outside of the accommodation reservation system during the World Cup.
43% of all visitors were from Saudi Arabia, followed by 7% from India, 6% from Oman, 4% from Kuwait, 5% from Bahrain, 4% from the United Arab Emirates, 3% from the United States, and 3% from the United Kingdom.
