The Vampire Diaries Star Michael Malarkey Boycotts Starbucks
He refused to drink coffee from the brand at a recent event.
'The Vampire Diaries' star Michael Malarkey recently revealed at the event that he has boycotted the cafe franchise Starbucks after refusing to drink the coffee he had received at the event.

Malarkey played Enzo St. John in the popular series and was being interviewed about his role at the event. A video clip that has gone viral from the event shows Malarkey raising a coffee paper cup for a sip before pausing and looking again at the paper cup.
First, the British-American actor simply put the cup down, but he soon picked it up again and put it farther away on the stage.
After he had done that, the actor said, "Sorry, I didn't realize that was Starbucks coffee. I do not drink Starbucks coffee. I boycott Starbucks and you all should too."

The actor received cheers and applause after saying that. Starbucks is part of the many brands that have been boycotted under the BDS Movement.
Since the start of the ongoing war in Gaza, Malarkey has expressed his support with Palestinians on social media and joined widespread calls for a ceasefire in the region.
Malarkey's father is an Irish-American who was teaching at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and his mother was a British-Palestinian who was also a student there.
Her father was born in Nazareth, Palestine and he was teaching at AUB. He was the famous Palestinian poet Suheil Bushrui who became the first Arab national to become the Chair of English at AUB.
Malarkey was born in Beirut, but he and his family left Lebanon after the Israeli invasion of the country's capital city in 1982.
