The Last Mile Security Conference for the FIFA World Cup Kicks Off
Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the Last Mile Security Conference for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 kicked off on Sunday, May 22, with the participation of more than 40 delegations from qualified countries and international and regional organizations.
The Security and Safety Operations Committee of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 revealed, during a press conference, the details of the last mile security conference, which will be held over two days and will review the efforts made by the State of Qatar with regard to the security aspect of hosting the World Cup.

Major General Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Ansari, Head of the Security and Safety Operations Committee for the FIFA World Cup 2022, stressed that the conference comes as an affirmation of the security readiness of the State of Qatar to host the event, and aims to identify the latest security preparations needed for the tournament, enhance police cooperation, and follow up on the implementation of security plans and strategies in cooperation with partners. At the local, regional and international levels, in addition to emphasizing joint cooperation with the organizations and bodies concerned with securing the tournament and the countries qualifying for the tournament.
Major General Al-Ansari added that the work of the conference includes many important topics, most notably the assessment of security risks and challenges, the approach to security planning, security procedures for the facilities of the tournament, securing the fans and how they arrive and move, and everything related to the security aspect of the tournament, in addition to exchanging experiences and information.
The head of the Security and Safety Operations Committee for the FIFA World Cup 2022, stressed that in order to ensure the highest levels of security and tranquility for all fans during the tournament, the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC) was established in Doha, which serves as an operations room managed and supervised by the committee, pointing out that It has been provided with the latest advanced technological means and the necessary infrastructure to ensure that the center performs its role and achieves its objectives, a group of young patriotic officers with outstanding skills have also been attached to the center.
For his part, Brigadier Ibrahim Khalil Al-Mohannadi, Head of the Legal Affairs and Communication Unit of the Security and Safety Operations Committee for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, referred to the role of the International Police Cooperation Center (IPCC), which is concerned with coordinating procedures and exchanging information between representatives of the international police services delegated from the qualifying countries for the tournament and representatives of For international organizations and friendly countries, with the aim of enhancing security and safety during the tournament period, pointing out that the center will work on exchanging information between representatives of the international police services and the State of Qatar with the aim of exchanging information and managing crises during the World Cup.
Less than six months remain until Qatar hosts the expected world event, so the country is seeking to mobilize all its efforts to achieve the best hosting of the World Cup in history.
