On Monday, September 26, the activities of the fourth edition of the Qatar International Art Festival, organized by the Cultural Village Foundation Katara, in cooperation with the international company Maps, were launched, with 300 artists from 65 countries participating.

The festival will witness the holding of an exhibition, in Buildings 18 and 19 and the square opposite Buildings 15, 19, and 18, which includes more than 600 artworks, including paintings, costumes, and sculptures, where there are many artworks across various art schools, and with multiple techniques.

The festival also includes a variety of activities and events, including a painting and sculpture exhibition, a live painting symposium, fashion shows inspired by the participating artworks, art workshops, a panel discussion, a cultural evening, and musical performances.

The global event will conclude with the award ceremony on September 30.

Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, Director-General of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), said in a speech on the occasion of the opening of the festival, in the presence of a number of their excellencies ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to the country, a number of artists and those interested in fine arts, that the Qatar International Art Festival, in which a group of A large number of artists from different art schools and from different countries in their cultures and civilizations, indicates the success of Katara in being a meeting place for creators, and a bridge of communication between people.

He pointed out that such projects enrich the cultural scene in Qatar, as they play a major role in revitalizing the artistic movement and exchanging experiences between artists, learning about their experiences, and providing Katara visitors with an opportunity to learn about these works, among which are works shown in international exhibitions.

In turn, Rashmi Agrawal, the fine artist, founder, and president of Maps International, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), praised Katara's role and its embrace of this global event, which provides a professional platform for artists in Qatar and various countries of the world, in addition to bringing under one umbrella a selection of experts, critics, academics and the public of fine art.

She explained that Qatar has become an incubator of arts and a great supporter of the artistic movement in the region and the world, whether through Qatar Museums or the Katara Cultural Village Foundation, pointing out that the festival, which has reached its fourth edition, is growing and flourishing year after year.

The Qatar International Arts Festival represents a truly international artistic event because it includes creative works and distinguished artistic participation by a wide selection of artists from Qatar and different countries of the world.

This year, the Qatar International Festival of Arts seeks to integrate arts with football and sports, and its fourth edition features the participation of 12 international galleries from: "Qatar, United Kingdom, Spain, India, Sweden, Iran, UAE, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and China."
