At a high-profile Islamic World conference held on Monday, Qatar's Lusail City was designated as the "Capital of Islamic Culture" for the year 2030. This designation was made in recognition of Lusail's position as a "historical cultural beacon" in the Islamic world.

The announcement that Lusail City would be designated as the "Capital of Islamic Culture" for the year 2030 was made at a conference in Doha, Qatar. The conference was organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and attended by officials from Muslim nations.
“The selection of Lusail as the Capital of Culture in the Islamic world is a recognition of the exceptional efforts and success of the Ministry of Culture in Qatar during its tenure as the Capital of Culture in the Islamic world,” according to QNA reports.
