Qatar's Hotel Industry Witnesses Impressive 31% Surge in Hotel Keys

Qatar's hotel industry has achieved a huge accomplishment in preparation for the World Cup, experiencing a massive expansion of hotel keys by an impressive 31 percent compared to previous years.
Berthold Trenkel, the Chief Operating Officer of Qatar Tourism, stated that the country has witnessed massive growth in its hospitality sector, with a significant increase in the number of hotel keys. Trenkel also highlighted the remarkable progress by mentioning the Fairmont Doha, which was non-existent just a year ago.

According to recent data released by Qatar Tourism, the country currently boasts a total of 38,506 hotel and apartment keys. Among the recently opened hotels in the country include Katara Towers, home to Fairmont Doha and Raffles Doha as well as The Ned Doha, Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha Resort, and Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha.
ValuStrat, a prominent consultancy and advisory firm in the Middle East, predicts that by the end of this year, Qatar will witness further growth, with over 40,000 hotel keys, 330,000 residential units, and 6.5 million sqm of office space. These projections highlight Qatar's continuous efforts to expand its hospitality, residential, and commercial sectors.
