Qatari inventors, who won second place in the Geneva International Invention Fair, expressed their great happiness, especially since this fair which is classified as one of the strongest international fairs in the field of innovations, considering that winning is a medal on their chest, and an incentive and support for them, to achieve more innovations.

And they said in an interview with Al-Sharq newspaper, that these inventions came as a result of continuous work, effort, and research over the past period, to come out in this way, expressing their pride and pride in participating and raising Qatar's name high in international forums.

It is worth noting that the Qatar Scientific Club of the Youth Affairs Department of the Ministry of Sports and Youth participated in the special edition of the Geneva International Invention Fair, which was held from March 16 to 22, 2022 AD.

The club’s participation came through two inventions, the first by engineer Issa Saad Al-Kuwari, which is a drone.  

The innovation was called the “Harun Al-Rasheed Cloud” and is used to cool open spaces and contribute to reducing electricity consumption. The second invention is represented by the inventor Sheikh Ali bin Salman Al-Thani and the inventor Maryam Khalaf Al-Kuwari, which is a mobile sterilization unit using the Device Light UV, which is used effectively to combat and eliminate viruses.

The Geneva International fair of Inventions is the most important annual event in the world dedicated to inventions only, Industrial and commercial companies, universities, inventors, researchers, scientific clubs, as well as private and governmental institutions present their inventions, research results, and new products.

Industrialists and investors in the fair will also find an opportunity to search for inventions to finance them and turn them into products that can be put on the market.

Engineer Issa Saad Al-Rabiah Al-Kuwari expressed his happiness for being one of the winners at the Geneva International Invention Fair, indicating his expectation to win, especially since the invention came as a result of continuous work, effort, and research over the past years to bring innovation out in this way, expressing his pride and pride in participating and raising Qatar's name high in international forums.

He continued, "The innovation is a drone that covers a specific area such as a football field and prevents direct sunlight and moves with the sun's tilt. It also works with solar energy and contributes to reducing the temperature up to 15 degrees Celsius."

Inventor Sheikh Ali bin Salman Al Thani confirmed that this is his third international participation, especially since the first participation was through the international fair of Inventions in the Middle East in Kuwait, as well as his participation in the Challenge and Innovation Forum in Doha, expressing his happiness at winning this international fair.

He continued, "The invention, in cooperation with the inventor, Maryam Khalaf Al-Kuwari, is a mobile sterilization unit using Device Light UV, which is used effectively to combat and eliminate viruses, with a 360-degree coverage, where it destroys the DNA of the virus, killing it or making it ineffective, rooms and corridors of hospitals, schools, government buildings, shopping places, and indoor public places such as closed high places can be sterilized and disinfected.
