In preparations for the upcoming Hajj season, the Qatari Hajj Mission, operating under the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, has rolled out essential health directives for pilgrims from Qatar.
Pilgrims are advised to ensure they receive necessary vaccinations at least 14 days before their journey to Saudi Arabia, allowing sufficient time for the vaccines to take effect. Dr. Khalid Abdul Hadi, Head of the Medical Unit of Qatari Hajj Mission, emphasized the importance of two mandatory vaccines: those for seasonal flu and meningitis fever.
Additionally, individuals with chronic illnesses are urged to consult their healthcare providers prior to departure, ensuring they have an ample supply of medications for the duration of Hajj rituals.
The Medical Unit at the Qatar Pilgrims Affairs Office in Makkah has established agreements with local hospitals to provide immediate medical assistance to Qatari pilgrims, with priority given to their treatment.
To further enhance medical support, medical teams will be stationed at key locations throughout the pilgrimage route, including Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, to cater to the needs of pilgrims around the clock.
Moreover, special arrangements have been made for isolation facilities within the Qatari Pilgrims Affairs Office in Makkah to manage any potential health emergencies.
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, pilgrims are reminded to adhere to preventive measures, including wearing facemasks and staying hydrated to prevent heatstroke. The Qatari Hajj Mission remains committed to ensuring the health and well-being of all pilgrims during this sacred journey.
