The Qatar Red Crescent Society has pledged one million Qatari riyals (QAR) in urgent aid to the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco on Friday, September 8, 2023.

The Qatar Red Crescent Society announced on social media that it has pledged $274,000 (QAR 1 million) in aid to the victims of the earthquake in Morocco. The aid will be used to provide basic necessities, such as blankets, food, first aid, tents, mattresses, and other medical supplies.

The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.8, caused widespread damage and loss of life in Morocco. The death toll has crossed 800, and thousands more have been injured. The earthquake has also caused extensive damage to infrastructure and housing.

The Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has expressed his condolences to the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, following the devastating earthquake that struck the country on Friday. The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.8, has caused widespread damage and loss of life.

The Qatari Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, has also declared the State of Qatar's full solidarity with Morocco in this event. He said that Qatar is ready to provide any assistance that Morocco may need.
