Qatar saw a 31 percent year-on-year increase in the number of air passengers arriving in April 2023, according to the latest Air Transport Statistics released by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA).

Qatar welcomed 3,281,487 air passengers in April, compared with 2,505,025 passengers arriving in the Gulf country in the same month of last year.
The QCAA added that aircraft movement recorded in the country last month increased 14.3 percent year-on-year, to 18,762 flights, up from 16,411 in April 2022.
Visitors from GCC countries contributed significantly to the growth in tourist arrivals in Qatar in April, making up 38 percent of total arrivals, with 164,410 people, a surge of 207.4 percent from 21,900 passengers in April 2022.
The number of air passengers registered for February and March of this year had been the highest on record since the start of operations of the Hamad and Doha International Airports.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup gave Qatar unprecedented publicity and the number of visitors has shown a steady increase since its end.
