Last week, health authorities in Taipei found ethylene oxide, a cancer-causing chemical associated with lymphoma and leukemia, in the Indomie and Ah Lai White Curry instant noodle brands from Indonesia.
It was discovered that the seasoning packets of the Indomie chicken special variant contained the chemical. Nonetheless, the health ministry of Qatar has taken extra preventative steps to ensure the safety of consumers in the nation.
The measures taken by Qatar's health ministry to guarantee the safety of consumers include mandating outlets to attach an analysis certificate that verifies the lack of ethylene oxide in any delivery of instant noodles, irrespective of their source. Additionally, the ministry has declared its intent to monitor the situation continually and make changes to these procedures as required.
