The Ministry of Municipality announced that it has developed 15 new beaches to receive visitors ahead of Eid al-Adha.

The beaches are Fuwairt Beach, Al Maroona Beach, Arida Beach, Al Ferkiah Beach, Simaisma Beach, Al Wakra Beach, Sealine Beach, Al Adaid Beach, Al Mamlaha Beach (exclusive for women), Al Ghariya Beach, Zikrit Beach, Dukhan Beach, Umm Bab Beach, Al Kharaij Beach (for singles), and Salwa Beach.
The beaches have been upgraded as part of the redevelopment project to include walkways, various kinds of shade structures, permanent restrooms, kiosks, barbeque spaces, kid-friendly play areas, and volleyball and football courts.
Additionally, specially designed walkways have been built on several beaches to provide those with special needs access to the water. The majority of beaches also use solar energy to run their lighting infrastructure.
