A new exhibition at the National Museum of Qatar will give you an insight into the history of the luxury goods maker's bags and designs starting on Saturday, May 28.

Following Harnessing the Roots in Beverly Hills, California; Rouges Hermès in New Delhi, India; and In Motion in Hanoi, Vietnam, Once Upon a Bag is the fourth chapter of the Hermès Heritage cycle and will share the rich history behind the fashion house through its bags.

With about 50 pieces from the fashion house's Conservatoire of Creations and the Émile Hermès collection, the show traverses between past and present, beginning with the Haut à courroies bag, which appeared in the early twentieth century.

The following section is divided into categories and is dedicated to different types of bags, such as clutches, ladies' bags, men's bags, travel bags, and sports bags.

There, you'll gain a thorough understanding of the stages of each bag's development, including the addition of zips and the construction of lighter travel variants.

Other rooms in Once Upon A Bag look at Hermès' trademark clasps, which are all made with watchmaker precision, as well as models from the 1980s' Bags of Mischief series. The exhibition, which runs until Saturday, June 11, is a must-see for premium fashion enthusiasts. Even if you aren't already a fan, the bags on the show may be enough to persuade you.

Once Upon a Bag aims to provide a deep dive into Hermès' archives while also highlighting how bags have evolved with the times and evolving societies. Hermès introduced the Sac pour l'auto, its first model with a practical zip, in close to 1923, and since then, the French design business has worked hard to make its carry-ons more inventive and even lighter. r. The trend is still going strong. y. Hermès devotees will agree that few brands can reinvent their pieces as well as Hermès.

The free exhibition is open to the public during regular museum hours, which are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Thursdays, and from 1.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays.
