The highlight of the event will be the Design Doha Prize Ceremony on April 18, 2026, which will bring together leading designers, visionaries, and creatives to celebrate excellence in regional and international design.

As part of its expanded vision, Design Doha will launch an Exhibition Open Call, inviting curators from across the MENA region, GCC, Levant, and North Africa to present bold ideas that redefine contemporary design. Submissions, open from March 13 to May 13, 2025, should spotlight the region’s rich heritage while pushing the boundaries of innovation.

Selected curators will receive full support to conceptualize and execute their exhibitions, contributing to a city-wide celebration of creativity.

Fahad Al Obaidly, Acting Director of Design Doha, shared his vision for the event:

"In 2026, we’ll take our activations across the country, making design an integral part of our urban landscape. Rooted in our rich Islamic and Middle Eastern heritage, we’ll reimagine public spaces, enhancing accessibility, walkability, and vibrancy. Through collaboration, we’ll not only celebrate culture but also drive economic growth, foster education, and fuel creative exchange."

With a focus on sustainability, innovation, and cross-cultural dialogue, Design Doha 2026 aims to elevate Arab design on the global stage. Exhibitions will be hosted at key venues across Doha, offering an immersive and thought-provoking exploration of contemporary design.

Under the leadership of HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the biennale continues its mission of bridging cultures and nurturing creative talent. As excitement builds, Design Doha 2026 is poised to be a game-changer for the regional and international design community.
