Qatar Extends Ramadan Book Fair Until April 9th

Qatar's Ministry of Culture announced that the second edition of the Ramadan Book Fair had been extended by another four days until Sunday, April 9th.

The fair -- which kicked off on March 30th at Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal -- was originally scheduled to conclude today, April 5th.
It is open to the public every day from 7:00 pm until midnight.
The book fair features 79 publishing houses and bookstores of which 31 are from Qatar while the rest are from 14 Arab and foreign countries namely: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Canada, the UK, and Australia.
The aim of the fair is to enhance the cultural movement in Qatar, and revitalize Qatari publishing houses, in addition to bringing books through exhibitions to the public to promote values of creativity and innovation.
On the sidelines of the fair, a number of cultural and religious activities and seminars, theatrical performances, and various activities for children are held.
