Qatar has dropped one spot to 35th in the latest FIFA rankings, with Japan leading the Asian continent at 17th place. Despite the recent decline, Qatar remains strong in the rankings with 1504.06 points, positioned above Egypt and just behind Czechia.

Earlier this year, Qatar made headlines by climbing over 20 places in the FIFA rankings after becoming the first country in 20 years to win back-to-back Asian Cup titles. The Maroons jumped to the 37th position in February, capitalizing on their home pitch to defend their AFC champion title against Jordan.
Historically, Qatar's average FIFA ranking is 80, with its lowest being 113th in 2010.
Meanwhile, Argentina continues to dominate the FIFA men’s world rankings, retaining the number one spot after their victory at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The champions have lost just one of their last 20 games, with their sole defeat coming from Uruguay in November 2023.
France holds the second position, followed by Belgium in third. Brazil has advanced to fourth place, while England has dropped to fifth. Portugal is sixth, with the Netherlands in seventh, Spain in eighth, Croatia in ninth, and Italy rounding out the top ten.
Japan leads the Asian continent, holding the 17th position, closely followed by Iran in 20th place.
Liberia made the most significant leap, climbing ten spots to 142nd, while Equatorial Guinea experienced the largest drop, falling 10 places to 89th. At the bottom of the FIFA ranking is San Marino, positioned at 210th place.
