The Qatar Drift Championship kicks off its 2023-24 season today at the Qatar Racing Club, showcasing the talents of the nation's top drivers. Under the patronage of Qatar Racing Club Chairman, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, the competition promises an adrenaline-packed experience for speed enthusiasts. Originally slated for October but delayed due to weather conditions, the event begins with a 4 pm technical inspection, followed by practice sessions an hour later, offering participants the chance to optimize their cars.

The competition introduces a National Category this season, aimed at highlighting and nurturing local talent within the international championship. With a separate ranking system and podium recognition for the top three finishers in each round, the category aims to promote Qatari and resident competitors in the drifting circuit. The event is designed to be a family-friendly experience, featuring a dedicated children's play area, restaurants, electronic game competitions, and special car races for children.

The Qatar Drift Championship's 2023-24 season comprises five rounds, with the second round scheduled for November 23 and 24. Following a short break to host the Arab Drift Championship in January 2024, the season will resume with its final two rounds set for February and March 2024.
